The Hatteras Light
The lighthouse on Cape Hatteras in North Carolina. Because of beach erosion, this structure was recently moved about a mile to a safer location. Picture made in May 2005.
It has to be at least six years ago ... I remember visiting Block Island (off the shores of CT/Rhode Island). The lighthouse was going to be moved further back because of the land corrosion. They posted a notice that a film about the move was going to be on PBS. I thought to myself, "Oh, I'll have to watch that." Never caught it, but I bet it would have been very interesting to see.
