except for the little turn signal light, you are looking at 1946 technology. Notice that the front suspension has no shock absorber, but there are two springs on each side. The smaller springs cushion the rebound. That is also a 1946 drum brake.
But there is something really unusual about this scooter. See other picture.
Yes, it's diesel powered. Cushman sold them with 4hp gas engines, but sometimes customizers restore time with different engines and custom paint jobs.
We go to two or three scooter meets a year. My wife sells books and I ride scooters.
